The NCMArts Fund
Donations to this fund support the Museum’s greatest operational needs as we seek to welcome and share the NCMA and NCMA Winston-Salem with expanding audiences. Gifts may be in honor or memoriam and are 100% tax-deductible.
NCMA Membership
Members experience more at the Museum, while also helping to support the NCMA’s general operations. Members enjoy benefits at both museum locations in Raleigh and Winston-Salem. Not all membership gifts are 100% tax-deductible.
Make a Campaign Gift

Additional Ways to Give
Many companies will help maximize your personal gift to the Museum through corporate matching programs if you or your spouse is an employee, retiree, or board member. Requesting a matching gift or grant normally requires filling out a brief form provided by your employer and takes only a few minutes. Contact your employer’s corporate philanthropy or human resources office to see if your company makes matching gifts to qualified charitable organizations.
Giving appreciated securities is an excellent way to support the NCMA and provides significant benefits: you may be able to deduct the full fair-market value for stock or securities (if owned for more than 12 months); you pay no capital gains tax on the appreciated assets; and the Museum receives the full value of the gift. (Always check with your financial adviser for specific tax advice.)

If you are 70.5 years or older, you can make a tax-free gift directly from your individual retirement account (IRA) to qualified 501c3 organizations such as the NCMA Foundation. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even without itemizing your deductions. Gifts up to $111,000 are eligible for this benefit, which is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover.
Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are useful tools for attaining your short- and long-term philanthropic goals. You receive a charitable income tax deduction at the time the fund is created and with any subsequent gifts made to the fund. You then recommend one-time or ongoing gifts to qualified organizations like the Museum. Since the IRS allows donors to take a charitable deduction when the gift is made to the fund, there are strict rules around the use of DAFs for gifts that involve an exchange of tangible benefits, including membership, special events, and travel.

A noncash gift, also called an in-kind gift, is a nonmonetary contribution of goods, personal property, or professional services that benefit the NCMA in a variety of ways. Please contact give@ncartmuseum.org to discuss potential gifts in kind.
The Museum collection would not be what it is today without the ongoing generosity of art collectors and contributors to our art acquisition funds. If you have a work of art you are interested in donating, please email artgift@ncartmuseum.org and include the title and artist of the work, its appraised value, its ownership history, and an image.
