Needs and Requests
For Commercial Use
If you are seeking to take photos for a commercial, promotional, and/or business marketing use, please complete and submit a commercial application for DNCR review and approval. Approval is required before commercial photos may be scheduled.
For Personal Use
Photography of artwork for personal use by individuals is welcome unless otherwise stated, provided all photographs are intended for noncommercial use. In order to protect the artwork, tripods, selfie sticks, flash photography, and live-stream filming are prohibited in the galleries.
For Engagement Photos
Photos for personal use such as engagements may be taken at the Museum during open hours in the galleries or Museum Park without the need for a permit, with a friendly reminder that tripods, standing lights, and/or flash photography are not permitted.
For Image Reproductions
High-resolution artwork and Museum images for media, publication, and/or commercial uses are available upon request. Public collection images may be obtained from Bridgeman Images.
For Drones
No recreational use of UAS is permitted on Museum property. Recreational use includes use at weddings, special events. No commercial use of UAS is permitted on Museum property unless pre-approved with a commercial use application.
Photo and Film Guidelines
Please review our photography and videography policy in advance. A Museum monitor is required for all productions except small outdoor non-commercial shoots, such as family or engagement photo shoots.
