Enter for a chance to win a fully restored custom-painted 2001 Porsche Boxster S. Finished in Lapis Blue Metallic over a Graphite Grey leather interior with a matching Graphite Grey top, this classic automobile represents a rare convergence of Porsche heritage, disciplined craftsmanship, and purposeful design.

As Porsche Cary’s inaugural entry into the 2026 Porsche Restoration Challenge, a competition that seeks to return a vehicle as closely as possible to its original production specifications and condition, the team selected the car for this year’s raffle as a nod to the NCMA’s own art conservation team and upcoming Conservation Lab opening in 2027.

This raffle is offered by the North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation, Inc. All proceeds support NCMA programming. This raffle is in collaboration with Porsche Cary. Valued at $58,585.

Tickets are $100; odds of winning depend on the number of tickets sold.

The Restoration Process

A Unique Collaboration: Automotive Design Meets Fine Art

In partnership with the North Carolina Museum of Art, this project represents a piece of automotive expression. This is not simply a restored sports car. It is a faithful return to form executed to Porsche standards, preserved with original components, and elevated through purpose.

The Restoration: A Ground-Up Return to Form

A comprehensive, no-compromise restoration executed by trained Porsche-certified technicians at Porsche Cary, it remained true to its intent through the consistent use of genuine Porsche Classic parts.

Body and Paint: From Bare Metal to Factory Finish. The transformation began with a complete disassembly and strip down to bare metal, performed by Caliber Collision, a certified Porsche body shop, who refinished the car to its original Lapis Blue Metallic.
Undercarriage and Engine Bay: Precision Preservation. The vehicle underwent dry ice blasting across the entire undercarriage and engine components, removing contaminants while preserving original finishes.
Mechanical and Drivetrain: Restored to Intended Performance. Cooling, engine, electrical, drivetrain, suspension, and braking systems were comprehensively restored to return the car to its intended driving dynamics, powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
Interior: Authenticity through Detail. The cabin was restored using OEM-correct materials, including refinished seating surfaces, restored trim components, and the installation of a Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM+) system.
Wheels, Exterior Details, and Final Presentation. The wheels were stripped and refinished, and final detailing was completed by Autolust, achieving a show-level finish.

Offered by the North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation, Inc. All proceeds support NCMA programming. This raffle is in collaboration with Porsche Cary.

  • The raffle prize is a 2001 Porsche Boxster S, valued at $58,585.
  • The Foundation will comply with all applicable tax requirements, including reporting and withholding requirements. The winner of the raffle is responsible for all taxes owed on the full value of the winnings. The Foundation will mail applicable tax forms to the winner of the raffle and report the prize to the IRS. The Foundation will collect the required federal withholdings upon the transfer of the title of the automobile to the winner and remit these amounts to the appropriate authorities. Full transfer of the vehicle may take up to 30 days. In the unlikely event that the car is undeliverable as stated, the Foundation will award the Winner the cash equivalent of the value of the car, less applicable taxes.
  • Through their purchase, ticket buyers agree to abide by the rules of the raffle.
  • The winner does not need to be present to win.
  • Ticket buyers must reside in the United States.
  • Senior staff of the North Carolina Museum of Art (State entity) and North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation, Inc., along with members of their households, are not eligible to participate.
  • The cost of a raffle ticket is $100. A minimum of 1,200 tickets must be sold for the raffle to occur. If fewer than 1,200 tickets are sold, ticket buyers will receive a refund for the full purchase price of the tickets.
  • The raffle ticket price is not tax deductible as a contribution to the Foundation.
  • Tickets may be purchased online, in person, or by phone. They may not be purchased from funds received via mail, nor will the Foundation send tickets back to purchasers via mail.
  • The raffle will begin at 10 am on Thursday, July 30, 2026, and will conclude at 5 pm on Sunday, November 1, 2026. The drawing will take place on or before the end of business on Monday, November 2, 2026. The winner will be selected via random number draw by the Foundation’s accounting firm. After the winner is notified and has accepted the raffle prize, the winner’s name will be listed on the raffle page of the NCMA website no later than Monday, November 16, 2026.
