Cinema classics are screened in the SECU Auditorium from fall through spring. Most screenings are selected and introduced by esteemed NCMA film curator Laura Boyes, an authority on classic film who can be heard on WUNC’s The State of Things in the popular segment “Movies on the Radio.” We also screen contemporary films that may have appeared only briefly in Triangle cinemas, or not at all. John Munson, who for 25 years served as program director of Raleigh’s historic Rialto Theater, curates and introduces our NCMA ArtHouse series. Some films are shown in their original 35mm format.
To guarantee your seat, we recommend you buy tickets in advance. Wine, beer, and other beverages are available for purchase at Iris after Dark. You can bring them into the auditorium.
