Still. Moving: Zonal Harmonic 170,000 and Zonal Harmonic 220,000 as interpreted by Rainbow Dance Co./Arts Together
Overview
Created in dialogue with Zonal Harmonic 170,000 and Zonal Harmonic 220,000, this original work by Rainbow Dance Co./Arts Together explores the unseen architectures that shape how we move, gather, and belong. Inspired by Tomás Saraceno’s vision of airborne networks and interspecies connection, the choreography considers the body not as an isolated figure but as part of a larger, vibrating system—held in tension, resonance, and relation.
Approaching the work as a living web, the choreographic language traces lines of pull, suspension, and release. Dancers respond to invisible forces—gravity, breath, proximity—building a shared field where individual motion ripples outward into collective form. Like Saraceno’s sculptural environments, the dance piece asks: What holds us up, and what holds us together?
This work is being interpreted by Rainbow Dance Co., Director of Dance Kathryn Auman. A brief talkback with Auman and the dancers follows the performance.

About Still. Moving
This performance dance series explores the timeless works of the People’s Collection and loaned works through the lens of movement. Each object becomes a partner in a visual and physical dialogue as dancers interpret form, story, and silence with their bodies. Still. Moving reimagines the gallery as a stage where past and present meet and where the boundaries between objects and experience dissolve.
Support for Still. Moving is provided by Dawn F. Lipson.
