The NCMA’s jazz series celebrates the transcendent power of one of America’s greatest exports to the world, its African American origins, and jazz’s intersections with other musical genres.
Now in its second season, the Museum’s Thursday evening concert series allows attendees to experience a musical palette that centers on the improvisational spirit of traditional jazz but also includes the rhythms, harmonies, and grooves of smooth jazz, funk, soul, R&B, fusion, bebop, and more. This season’s lineup features nine Grammy winners and two Grammy-nominated artists. All concerts are held in the award-winning Joseph M. Bryan, Jr., Theater in the Museum Park and begin at 7 pm. Gates open at 5:30 pm.
