The NCMA depends on a dedicated corps of volunteers, docents, and interns to contribute their expertise and ideas in a variety of ways to strengthen the Museum’s connection to its community and to develop their own skills and connections. Learn more about how to get involved below.

    Docents facilitate Museum tours and enjoy sharing interpretive insights with thousands of visitors every year.

    Friends of the Judaic Art Gallery

    The Judaic Art Gallery at the North Carolina Museum of Art illuminates the spiritual and ceremonial life of the Jewish people through works of art of aesthetic excellence.

    Marble statues of heroes, emperors, gods, and goddesses displayed with ceramic vessels of remarkable skill in the classical art galleries enrich the visit of adults and children, offering insight into history, artistic techniques, and philosophy.

    Internships

    Internships at the NCMA provide opportunities to become familiar with and actively contribute to the inner workings of an art museum. They are available in many departments, such as Curatorial, Education, Marketing, and Advancement.
