What’s in the Box?
The Department of Natural and Cultural Resources and the North Carolina Museum of Art require family program participants ages 13 and up to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 NAAT or PCR test result; test results must be within 72 hours of the event. Please plan to have one of these items in hand for Museum personnel upon entry.
Spend the morning at the Museum with our beloved program for preschoolers! Meet a work of art, enjoy movement and play, and get your creative juices flowing in these sessions for 3- to 5-year-olds and their caregivers. Adults and children visit the Museum galleries and then create unique works of art in our studios as we make connections through stories, art making, movement activities, and gallery play.
In this session you’ll have a special opportunity to discover Pablo Picasso’s Mains au poissons, on view in the exhibition Break the Mold: New Takes on Traditional Art Making. Then, create a decorative bowl inspired by Picasso’s art.
