Free timed tickets for the Museum collection galleries encourage social distancing, and increased health and safety procedures are in place. Following local ordinances, visitors are required to wear a mask inside all buildings, including restrooms and concession buildings. For the safety of everyone, we ask that all outdoor event attendees wear masks both outdoors and indoors. Learn more about these updates at

Virtual Studio Workshop: Exploring Light in Photography

“I am forever chasing light. Light turns the ordinary into the magical.”—Trent Parke

In this two-part workshop, participants are challenged to discover new ways of capturing landscapes, portraits, and other types of photography with light in mind. In Part 1, from 7 to 8:30 pm on May 20, professional photographer Mick Schulte will share inspiration from masters of light and teach you ways to find light to make magic out of the ordinary. You will then have a week to put your new skills into practice and capture images to share.

In Part 2, from 7 to 8:30 pm on May 27, the class will review images from each participant and discuss the various forms of light used. You will be ready to find art and inspiration in the world around you after taking this course.

For ages 16 and up. All skill levels and types of cameras are welcome, including smartphones and nondigital cameras.
