The Sound of Us: A Musical Exploration of African American Art
Experience a powerful concert that weaves together visual art and music, inspired by the exhibition The Time Is Always Now: Artists Reframe the Black Figure. Artworks from the exhibition, thoughtfully selected by NCMA curator Maya Brooks, will be paired with live musical performances, offering a dynamic exploration of the show’s themes of Double Consciousness, Persistence of History, and Our Aliveness.
Tenor Corey Leaks, celebrated for his breathtaking performances, brings the art to life, promising a deeply moving and unforgettable experience that will resonate long after the final note.
Presented by the Triangle Friends of African American Arts.
Please note: ticket price of $24.86 does not include admission to the exhibition.
