
Triangle Friends of African American Arts presents A Celebration of African American Art with Song
This special concert draws inspiration from selected works of African American art at the NCMA as well as two powerful exhibitions, Ruth E. Carter: Afrofuturism in Costume Design and Michael Richards: Are You Down? The diverse mix of music includes African American spirituals, blues, and R&B. After the performance attendees can take a self-guided tour of African American art at the Museum.
About the performer
Tenor Corey Leak started his professional career as a member of the prestigious Boys Choir of Harlem and has performed with the North Carolina Symphony, New York Philharmonic, and Boston Symphony Orchestra, as well as for NC governors Perdue and Cooper.
