Summer Films: Clueless
Clueless (1995). Directed by Amy Heckerling, 110 min., PG-13
In this clever adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma, rich, popular, and fashionable Cher (Alicia Silverstone) decides to help others find love and fashion sense. Cher soon realizes that she has been neglecting her own needs for love and finds it where she least expected. “The movie is aimed at teenagers, but like all good comedies, it will appeal to anyone who has a sense of humor and an ear for the ironic.” (RogerEbert.com)
