Studio Workshop: The Science of Sound with Jason Mullinax

Dive deeper into the science of sound! In this workshop with musician Jason Mullinax, participants learn the fundamentals of how sound and music work to enhance the stories we tell. They engage in hands-on experiments to get the most variety out of unconventional instruments. All skill levels welcome.  

About the instructor 

Jason Mullinax is a teacher, percussionist, songwriter, and videographer with over 30 years of drumming and performance experience. He launched Music Discovery Lab in the Washington, DC, region in 2015, building on a lifelong passion for rhythm, creativity, and community. In 2021, Mullinax relocated to the Triangle, settling in Carrboro. Since then, he has performed throughout the Southeast and mid-Atlantic, composed soundtracks for documentary films, and released original music on his own record label.
