About the instructor
Jason Blyskal is a stained glass artist originally from Miami, Florida. He relocated to North Carolina in 2015 to pursue his artistic practice and be closer to friends and family. He often utilizes multiple mediums, creating suncatchers, night-lights, mirrors, and occasionally larger-scale installations that incorporate lighting and sculptural elements. His work draws inspiration from cartoons and video games of his youth as well as art deco and cubist motifs, blending traditional techniques with contemporary approaches. Playfulness and accessibility remain central to his practice. His home studio is based out of Durham, NC, and he is also an employee of the NCMA, engaging visitors with artistic and community building opportunities.
