Still. Moving: Isla (Tierra Prometida) as interpreted by Arts Together Rainbow Dance

Watch as dancers offer a living response to Isla (Tierra Prometida) by Cuban artist Yoan Capote, bringing choreographed motion to what was made to endure. This work is interpreted by Arts Together Rainbow Dance under the artistic direction of Kathryn Auman. A brief talkback with Auman and the dancers follows the performance.

About Still. Moving
This performance dance series explores the timeless works of the People’s Collection and loaned works through the lens of movement. Each object becomes a partner in a visual and physical dialogue as dancers interpret form, story, and silence with their bodies. Still. Moving reimagines the gallery as a stage where past and present meet and where the boundaries between objects and experience dissolve.

About Arts Together Rainbow Dance
Rainbow Dance Co. is Arts Together’s multi-age modern dance company where creativity and technique go hand in hand. Founded by Lemma Mackie in 1980 and led since 2005 by longtime Arts Together alum and director of dance Kathryn Auman, Rainbow brings together dancers ages 10 to 70+ in a collaborative, inclusive environment. Company members explore social themes through original choreography, with dancers contributing ideas regardless of age or experience. Whether invited from Arts Together classes or joining through audition, all members are valued as artists and peers. Under Auman’s visionary leadership, Rainbow continues to redefine what a dance company can be—intergenerational, expressive, and community-centered.
