Special Film Event-Arts Access presents A Series of Fortunate Events: Crip Camp

The Department of Natural and Cultural Resources and the North Carolina Museum of Art require film and lecture program participants ages 13 and up to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 NAAT or PCR test result; test results must be within 72 hours of the event. Please plan to have one of these items in hand upon entry for Museum personnel.

Arts Access’ sixth A Series of Fortunate Events (SOFE) program includes this Oscar-nominated documentary about a groundbreaking summer camp that inspires a group of teens with disabilities to find community, individuality, and their voices to shape the disability rights movement. Co-sponsored by Disability Rights North Carolina (DRNC), this indoor screening will feature a recent interview with acclaimed international disability rights advocate and Crip Camp star Judy Heumann and Virginia Knowlton Marcus, DRNC’s CEO, reflecting on Judy’s incredible experiences at the helm of a revolution.
