About the artists
The Cleveland Celtic Ensemble offers a captivating fusion of Celtic tradition and chamber music sophistication, delivering performances that are both intimate and exhilarating. Their unique blend of Scottish and Irish bagpipes, fiddle, harp, flute, and vocals creates a rich tapestry of sound that resonates with audiences seeking both authenticity and innovation.
Each member brings a wealth of experience and accolades to the ensemble. Brian Bigley has toured extensively across North America and Europe, showcasing his mastery of the uilleann pipes and traditional Irish dance. Kristen Bigley, with her classical training, seamlessly bridges the gap between classical and folk genres. Ian Crane’s performances have graced prestigious venues such as the Smithsonian Folk Life Festival, the Kennedy Center, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Tiffany Schaefer, winner of the 2022 US National Scottish Harp Championship, enriches the ensemble’s sound with her harp and vocal prowess.
Their debut album, Cleveland Celtic Ensemble, features traditional and contemporary pieces from Ireland, Scotland, and America, reflecting their commitment to both preservation and innovation in Celtic music. The ensemble’s performances have been featured on platforms like the Irish and Celtic Music Podcast, further cementing their reputation in the Celtic music community.
