The Museum is open with updated hours, Wednesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Free timed tickets for the Museum collection galleries encourage social distancing, and increased health and safety procedures are in place. Following local ordinances, visitors are required to wear a mask inside all buildings, including restrooms and concession buildings. For the safety of everyone, we ask that all outdoor event attendees wear masks both outdoors and indoors. Learn more about these updates at ncartmuseum.org/covid19.

February’s kit brings to life the festive celebrations of New Orleans’ carnival season. Create a mask inspired by the performance traditions of the Mardi Gras Indians, whose elaborate hand-crafted costumes would have been enjoyed by the musicians depicted in Romare Bearden’s New Orleans: Ragging Home.

Reserve your kit at the link above. Please specify the quantity of kits you are requesting (maximum four per reservation). Kits will be available for curbside pickup at the Museum on Saturday, February 13, starting at 10 am until they run out.
