About the DJ
DJ Fable was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California, by two immigrants, one from Mexico and one from Vietnam. Growing up, he learned about DJing from his Tio Tony, who was the local radio host and DJ for all the quinceañeras and weddings in town. He then picked up his own set of turntables at the age of 23 and started making mixes of hip-hop, Afrobeat, cumbia, salsa, and more. Today, you can catch him playing music poolside at the Unscripted hotel in Durham or at First Fridays around Raleigh.
