The Museum is open with updated hours, Wednesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Following local ordinances, visitors are required to wear a mask inside all buildings, including restrooms and concession buildings, and at outdoor events. For some events participants ages 13 and up must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 NAAT or PCR test result; test results must be within 72 hours of the event. Check individual event pages to see if this applies; at this time it is not required for gallery, exhibition, tour, or Park visits. Learn more at ncartmuseum.org/covid19.

Mindful Museum: Virtual Sensory Journey through Art

Join us for a sensory journey to New York while exploring Night Wing: Metropolitan Area Composite II. We’ve partnered with Arts Access to offer this special virtual experience intended for adults who are blind, low vision, or have a disability or learning need that would benefit from a sensory-style experience.

After a short guided meditation and audio description of the artwork, you will be invited to step into the painting with a mindful observation and discussion. Registration includes a small kit of sensory objects that participants will engage with during the observation. These will be mailed to registrants in advance. Captions will be provided.

Registration closes April 30, 2021. For ages 16 and up.
