Live from the Studio with Jillian Goldberg

Discover the versatility of acrylics as artist Jillian Goldberg brings her captivating creations to life in a virtual demonstration. Gain valuable insights into her techniques and unleash your own artistic potential. Acrylic paint allows the experimental painter to use a wide range of techniques due to its fast drying time, water cleanup, and adhesive qualities. There are an array of hues and viscosities and mediums that can be added to achieve different effects.

Goldberg walks you through the basics about acrylic paint and mediums and demonstrates a nonacademic approach to painting a wood panel intuitively through nonintentional play. Although the process is open ended and personal to each painter, she guides you through a series of actions, including mark making, stamps and sprays, collage, and stenciling, that build an intriguing surface. You’ll come away with a trove of new ideas about applying and manipulating paint, mark making with unexpected tools, and permission to explore in your own way.
