Landscape Painting Essentials: Light, Color, and Composition
Please note: This is a two-day workshop that meets Saturday, September 7, 10 am–4 pm, and Sunday, September 8, 1–4 pm.
Join us outside to paint the sky and beautiful landscapes at the NCMA with artist Noelle Gunn. Surrounded by trees, open fields, sculptures, and fresh air, participants learn how to see and paint light and shapes to create realistic landscape paintings.
In this two-day workshop, we explore basic techniques, including color mixing, drawing and composition, and different brushstrokes and palette knife uses for painting. Students leave with several small landscape paintings, with sizes varying depending on student choice. The workshop includes a variety of demonstrations, discussions, and time for sharing.
This class is geared toward beginners, but all levels are welcome.
