Intro to Relief Printmaking with Bill Fick
Relief printing is one of the oldest printing methods in China, begun around 255 bce. In Europe it was made popular during the Middle Ages and then expanded after the invention of Gutenberg’s press. Artists worldwide have used the technique to make multiples, allowing for an expanded distribution of their work.
In this workshop with Bill Fick, we explore the exciting possibilities of relief printmaking, including image concepts, carving, and printing. No experience necessary.
