Humber Lecture: Empire, Commerce, and Faith in the Venetian-Ottoman Borderlands

Exhibition Related

Venetian-Ottoman borders were crisscrossed by spies, renegades, engineers, missionaries, mercenaries, and merchants. In this lecture Monique O’Connell explores the complexities of the Venetian-Ottoman relationship in the early modern era, balancing commercial exchange with imperial competition and religious differences.
