Fault Lines Exhibition Store Maker Event: Recycled Jewelry with Bold Standard

Join local artist Kathleen Grebe of Bold Standard to make your own jewelry from recycled materials. Aluminum cans offer endless possibilities for upcycled designs. Whether you’re a Diet Coke lover or a fan of microbrews, this class will allow your creativity to fizz!

Learn how to pop out shapes from aluminum cans, create a sturdy base, and connect your jewelry pieces. You can design as many earrings and pendants as you like with included supplies.

Everything you need will be provided, including cans, but bringing some of your own items might be a good idea. Already know what kind of can you want to use? Bring your own! If possible, include multiples–this allows for more flexibility when matching patterns for left and right earrings. It also provides a backup for any mishaps. Many tools will be shared, so if you have your own jewelry pliers or small scissors (best for cutting the cans), bring those too. And if you would like to design a pendant, you may want to bring your own chain to match.

The class includes a complimentary opportunity to view Fault Lines: Art and the Environment, wine, and snacks. Jewelry experience is not required, and all ages are welcome.
