Exploring Identity through Pastels with Telvin Wallace
In this engaging workshop, participants explore themes of identity, urgency, and societal change examined in the exhibition The Time Is Always Now: Artists Reframe the Black Figure. Using pastels as the primary medium, they create artwork that reflects their unique perspective on time, social action, and personal identity.
Drawing inspiration from the exhibition’s focus on immediate action and reflection on the present moment, this workshop challenges participants to express the complexity of how they perceive their place in the world. By the end of the session, they’ll have created an expressive pastel that ties personal identity to the larger context of social and historical forces shaping the present.
