Due to unforeseen circumstances and expected inclement weather, the Watchhouse concert originally scheduled for Saturday, October 1, has been rescheduled to Friday, October 28. Tickets for the original date can be used for the rescheduled date; just present your ticket at the new event. Earth Day Outdoor Film Screening: Hidden Rivers

Commemorate Earth Day with a movie under the stars. Ten years in the making, Hidden Rivers (2019, NR) is a documentary that explores the rivers and streams of the Southern Appalachian region, North America’s most biologically rich waters. The film follows the work of biologists and explorers throughout the region and reveals both the beauty and vulnerability of these ecosystems.

Come early to learn more about local environmental organizations and how you can get involved. Film begins at 8 pm.

Amphitheater Policies:

  • Free parking is available on campus in lots along Blue Ridge Road and close to the main Museum buildings. Accessible parking is available in the Plaza between East and West buildings and behind West Building.
  • The Joseph M. Bryan, Jr., Theater in the Museum Park is a nonsmoking venue. Smoking and vaping are restricted to areas outside of venue gates.
  • The NCMA permits factory-sealed plastic water bottles and empty refillable water bottles at entry; otherwise, no outside food or beverage is allowed in the Amphitheater.
  • Water fountains are available near the restrooms to fill your bottles once inside the gates.
  • The NCMA offers a variety of food and beverages for purchase, including beer and wine, during the event.
  • Glass containers and other breakable objects, knives, tables, and wagons are prohibited.
  • Dogs or other pets are not permitted.
  • Blankets, folding chairs, and other portable seating are allowed and encouraged.
  • Keep an eye on NCMA social media (@ncartmuseum) for weather updates or cancellations.

Proyecci³n al aire libre de una pel­cula en el D­a de la Tierra: Hidden Rivers

Conmemore el D­a de la Tierra con una pel­cula bajo las estrellas. Hidden Rivers (2019, NR) es un documental que se realiz³ a lo largo de diez a±os, que explora los r­os y arroyos de la regi³n de los Apalaches del Sur, cuyas aguas son, en t©rminos biol³gicos, las m¡s ricas de Am©rica del Norte. La pel­cula muestra el trabajo de los bi³logos y exploradores de toda la regi³n y pone de manifiesto tanto la belleza como la vulnerabilidad de estos ecosistemas.

Le recomendamos que llegue temprano para poder aprender m¡s sobre las organizaciones ambientales locales y sobre las maneras en que puede participar. La proyecci³n comienza a las 8 p. m.

Pol­ticas del anfiteatro:

  • Estacionamiento gratuito disponible en el campus en espacios ubicados a lo largo de Blue Ridge Road y cerca de los principales edificios del museo. Hay un estacionamiento accesible en la plaza ubicada entre los edificios Este y Oeste y detr¡s del edificio Oeste.
