We’re reimagining the People’s Collection, and your favorites may be on the move. If you’re visiting to see a particular object, please email help@ncartmuseum.org to confirm it’s on view. Staff will respond as soon as possible during gallery hours, Wednesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm.

Our Judaic, Rodin, Italian, Dutch and Renaissance, and Modern and Contemporary galleries will remain on view through May 29, 2022, along with a selection of works from the African arts collection. West Building will then close to the public, reopening October 8, 2022. Learn more about this exciting reinstallation project and related reopening celebrations.

Earth Day Family Day

Celebrate Earth Day with the NCMA! Visitors of all ages can enjoy free access to the special exhibition Fault Lines: Art and the Environment, create eco-inspired hands-on art projects, and meet artists and environmentalists whose work impacts and preserves the natural beauty of our community.

Special activities include:

  • Free admission to Fault Lines. Walk-up tickets only, available at the East Building Ticket Desk. Capacity is limited.
  • Hands-on art-making activities in the Museum and Park that explore the environment and ecology of North Carolina’s mountains, piedmont, and ocean.
  • Family friendly exhibition tour (10:30–11 am). First come, first served. Capacity is limited.
  • ecoEXPLORE nature walks with NC Museum of Natural Sciences (10:30–11 am; 11 am–noon). First come, first served. Capacity is limited.
  • Kuumba Community Drum Circle with Robert J. Corbitt III (noon1 pm).

Día familiar por el Día de la Tierra

¡Celebre el Día de la Tierra con el NCMA! Visitantes de todas las edades pueden acceder de forma gratuita a la exposición especial Fault Lines: Art and the Environment (Líneas de falla: arte y medio ambiente). También pueden participar en proyectos prácticos inspirados en la ecología, encontrarse con artistas y ambientalistas cuyos trabajos generan un impacto y preservan la belleza natural de nuestra comunidad.

Entre las actividades especiales se encuentran las siguientes:

  • Admisión gratis a Fault Lines. Solo entradas sin reserva, disponibles en Entradas y membresía (edificio Este). La capacidad es limitada.
  • Actividades prácticas de creación artística en el museo y el parque, que permiten explorar el medio ambiente y la ecología de las montañas, el Piamonte y el océano de Carolina del Norte.
  • Visita guiada de la exposición para familias (de 10:30 a 11:00 am) Se atiende por orden de llegada. La capacidad es limitada.
