Duo Andalus featuring Lala Tamar and Ofer Ronen

Join us for a musical journey woven by traditional and original songs from the Mediterranean. The young diva of Moroccan Judeo-Arabic music Lala Tamar breathes vibrant life into Sephardic, North African, and flamenco music. She collects lost stories and women’s songs in the Haquetia language. Accompanied by the virtuoso guitar of Ofer Ronen, the duo masterfully presents an evening of tenderness and depth, enchanting listeners with a ritual that celebrates the roots of three cultures in one.

This series features music inspired by global faith traditions, bringing to life the diversity of religious expression in our region and the NCMA collection. Performances include both traditional and contemporary music, ranging from Persian-Jewish piyyut (liturgical poems) to Sufi ragas to Black gospel.
