We’re excited to welcome visitors back to a new Museum experience starting this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, October 8 and 9. Learn more about the free opening weekend celebration and see a full schedule of events celebrating the People’s Collection, reimagined. On Saturday, we anticipate parking to be at capacity throughout the day and encourage carpooling and/or alternative modes of transportation.

BANTABA 2022!

The North Carolina Museum of Art honors the legacy of Charles “Baba Chuck” Davis with BANTABA 2022! Led by Robert J. Corbitt III and the Kuumba Cultural Arts Collective, this special event features live djembe drumming and interactive West African dance. The performance is perfect for people of all ages.

(The word “Bantaba” was a favorite phrase of Baba Chuck and is loosely interpreted as “Come on, let’s dance!”)
