Artful Story Time in ASL
Join us for a lively story time inspired by art! Come look, listen, and move as we make connections with original works of art and children’s books. Best for ages 2 and up with adult caregivers.
This bilingual session is led by Gideon Friant in American Sign Language (ASL) with English interpretation. We welcome all families to this inclusive story time!
About the presenter
Gideon Friant is a Deaf native of North Carolina. He grew up in Jacksonville with his nine hearing siblings, who all learned American Sign Language to communicate with him. He graduated from Campbell University, where he majored in information technology. He currently works for NC Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing as a telecommunications consultant. Presenting stories in American Sign Language, which is inspired by Linda Bove’s film Sign Me a Story, has been one of his favorite things to do.
