An Evening with Patrick Dougherty

Join us for a special evening with internationally renowned sculptor Patrick Dougherty, who celebrates the release of his new book, Patrick Dougherty | James Florio: Sticks (Radius Books).

Dougherty is joined by Kate Farrell, poet, educator, and Patrick’s sister, for a conversation moderated by Jean McLaughlin, arts advocate and former director of Penland School of Craft. Farrell’s work spans poetry, teaching, and art interpretation, including several acclaimed anthologies created in collaboration with major art institutions. Together, Dougherty and Farrell explore Dougherty’s artistic process and the evolution of his site-specific work, including his sculpture at the NCMA.

The program takes place in NCMA Café framed by Dougherty’s installation Out of the Box (2009). The evening includes an audience Q&A and a post-event book signing. Light refreshments will be served.

Space is limited, and registration is required.
