Get Involved
Explore the Park, wander the galleries, and find your place at the NCMA through in-person and virtual activities planned by our College Advisory Council. Through juried exhibitions, internship opportunities, and peer-led activities, college students across the state can express themselves and gain valuable experience.

Internships
College students and recent graduates benefit from interning at the NCMA by learning and contributing to the work of an art museum.

College Take-Overs
Our College Advisory Council presents distinctive Museum experiences for college students, with music, art, and interactive activities all year round. From HBCU days in the park, college nights, and self-guided relaxation tours, there is always a way to enjoy the NCMA.

Thinking through Making: NCMA College Exhibition 2022–23
This exhibition highlights the act of making art over the presentation of a finished product. It takes place at the North Carolina Museum of Art from October 2022 through February 2023.
Students are encouraged to enter work that supports the theme of Thinking through Making. This may include sketches, maquettes, studies, or failed attempts at paintings, drawings, or sculptures as well as edited process videos. We are interested in demonstrating the work that goes into the artist’s process, from conceptualization through finished piece.
The size of any object entered should not exceed 36 inches in any direction.
Please email angela.lombardi@ncdcr.gov with any questions.
