Overview
Bring your friends to enjoy free admission to the exhibition Knowing the West, dress up in your interpretation of the style of the American West, line dance to your favorite tunes, and participate in interactive games and art activities. Free refreshments and snacks provided.
For ages 13–18. RSVP is encouraged.
Schedule of activities
5:30–8:30 pm
Campfire games: Sit by our “campfire” to share stories or play board games.
Counternarratives exhibition: Explore the 2025–26 Teen Arts Council self-designed exhibition inspired by our spring exhibition Knowing the West.
Western charms: Create a keychain or bag charm using a variety of beads and tiny cowboy hats.
Photobooth: Remember the night with a picture in our immersive American West set.
6–7 pm
Artwish musical canvas: Enjoy a live piano performance and art pop-up exhibition by teen artists.
6–7:30 pm
Speed poetry: Give a prompt or word to Rishi Janakiraman, North Carolina’s inaugural Youth Poet Laureate, to receive a unique poem.
6–8 pm
Live screen printing: Grab a bandana and watch Laboosh Printing screen print a western-inspired design on it to take home as cool accessory.
7–8 pm
Line dancing: Learn beginner dance moves with our line dancing instructor.
