Overview
This workshop is led by self-employed artist David Anyanwu (P-Shinobi), who has turned his passion for art into a 10-year career. This workshop provides aspiring artists with the knowledge and skills needed to establish their own art business. The class explores various aspects of running this kind of business, including marketing strategies such as the effective use of social media for promotion. We also cover opportunities such as anime and comic conventions as ways to make sales and grow a following. In additions, attendees can gain hands-on experience creating an e-commerce site populated with their art products.
Participants can attend to listen to the lecture and observe the demonstrations. If attendees want to work on an e-commerce site, these items are suggested:
- A tablet or laptop
- 4+ high-resolution images of artwork to simulate products such as apparel and accessories
About the instructor
David Anyanwu, also known by his artist name P-Shinobi, is a freelance digital artist and illustrator with over 20 years’ experience. From a young age, he has loved drawing and telling stories through his art. His style is heavily influenced and inspired by Japanese anime. Currently, he runs a brand called Boomslank with his two brothers, where he creates prints, accessories, and apparel using his original art.
