Awaken your senses, elevate your mind, and calm your body through a guided meditation inspired by the Museum’s collection. This hourlong interactive program leads you through centering techniques, a breathing practice, and sensory experience related to Louise Jones’s mural Summer Is Where You’ll Find Me. Space is limited; for ages 16 and up.
For questions about the content of this program, email Bryanne Senor.
How to prepare for this program:
• To deepen our experience, we will engage with a tangible object, please have a cut flower or other piece of plant material nearby that you can hold in your hands.
• Choose a quiet space with minimal distractions. Feel free to create as comfortable and calming of an area as you like. Sit in a supportive chair, dim the lights, or light a candle.
• While you can use a smartphone to join, for an optimal experience we recommend using a desktop, laptop, or tablet.
• Log on a few minutes early to get familiar with the view options, chat box, and other functions.
• We’ll call on and identify participants by whatever name appears on their Zoom account.
• Use headphones and microphone for best sound quality, and silence alerts from nearby devices.
While the Museum is now open, Museum from Home programming continues, including the new NCMA Virtual Exhibitions Subscription and ongoing virtual events. Through the NCMA Recommends virtual offerings below, inspired by the Museum collection, we hope to foster contemplation, meditation, and creativity.
