Black Nativity is an African American telling of the Nativity story. This gospel music experience, a production of the Justice Theater Project, takes us on a journey back to the Bethlehem of Mary and Joseph, resplendent in African costumes and uplifting songs of worship. This year it is led by Dr. Asabi (Stephanie Howard), with choreography by Kristi V. Johnson, both of North Carolina Central University, with music direction by Michael D. Williams.
The Justice Theater Project’s annual multicultural production features new songs, soloists, and surprises each year. Please note that the events at the NCMA are musical performances, not the full production of the play. A Christmas celebration for the whole family!
You’ll see us in your inbox soon. And we hope to see you at the Museum!
