The flowers that Louise Jones and I collected on July 23 for the mural Summer’s Where You’ll Find Me show a temporal snapshot of what was blooming in the Museum Park at that moment in time.

The blooms selected for this site-specific installation were gathered from areas around the Pond, pollinator garden, rain gardens, and wave gardens near the Ellipse. All the plants in the mural are native to North Carolina except for the butterfly gaura (Oenothera lindheimeri), which is native to Louisiana and Texas.
