ACCESSIBILITY
 For general inquiries about accessibility, please contact the visitor services manager at (919) 664-6743 or e-mail Robert Mlodzik.
- A touch tour of the permanent collection is available for visitors with visual impairments. Please call at least three weeks in advance to schedule all tours: (919) 664-6748.
- A limited number of standard wheelchairs and one motorized wheelchair are available at the Information Desk. If you require assistance with a standard wheelchair, please plan to visit with someone who can assist you. All wheelchairs are first-come, first-serve and cannot be reserved.
- Assistive listening devices are available upon request for Auditorium lectures and gallery tours.
- The museum map available at the Information Desk specifies public restrooms which are ADA compliant.
- Doors are not equipped with automatic opening devices.*
- Although the
Museum
Park
includes some paved trails, wheelchairs are not recommended due to steep grades in the natural landscape.

* The current Museum building was constructed in accordance with1983 standards and thus does not meet current

recommendations. The new Museum building and the renovation of the existing building will include
