Michelle Harrell is the Coordinator of Teen and College Programs at the North Carolina Museum of Art. She received her Associate of Arts from Peace College and her BFA and MAEd from East Carolina University. Michelle holds National Board certification in EAYA- Art (Early Adolescence and Young Adult Art) and is certified to teach AP Studio Art. After 13 years of teaching middle and high school art, she joined the NC Museum of Art Education Department in October 2010 to help build new teen and college programs. Serving as Project Manager for a grant-funded distance learning program has allowed Michelle to continue exploring topics related to her Master’s thesis: Interactive Technology as a Tool for Student Centered Learning in the Art Classroom. Always a teacher at heart, Michelle is eager to chat about connections between technology, art history, and pop culture.
