The WOW! Factor
Part I: Friday, July 11
Part II: Friday, July 25

Exhibition designers draw on historical and visual aesthetics that may not be readily apparent to most visitors; conservators peel back the layers of time to allow the most pristine presentation of great works of art. Using before and after images, Eric Gaard, head of exhibition design, and Noelle Ocon, associate conservator, examine the complementary efforts of two distinct professions and share how they help make every work of art “pop” with visual appeal.

African Art in Context
Wednesdays, June 4, 11, 18, 25

Art in the Museum’s African collection was originally presented and used in a very different environment. Shawnya Harris, PhD candidate at UNC-CH, leads you in looking at how the meaning of these works changes depending on the situations in which they are viewed.

Rescheduled
Indoor Flower Hunting
Thursdays, July 10, 17, 24, 31

Have you ever noticed the variety and quantity of flowers that we have inside the Museum? Are they specific species or just flourishes of the artist’s imagination? Join Tia Herring, Museum Park manager, for an indoor flower exploration through the galleries.
