ANYTIME ACTIVITIES

Explore the Museum Park with a Park Backpack, or pick up a Tour-in-a-Tote (also available in Spanish) and explore works inside the Museum. These are free to borrow and can be checked out from the Information Desk.


CHILDREN'S PERFORMANCES

Wonderful Wednesdays
Wednesdays, 1 PM
Museum Auditorium
$3 (Free for Family-level members and above)
Tickets available through the Museum Box Office: (919) 715-5923.
Children ages 5 and up. (Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.)

Most performances are 50 minutes.

Please be advised that Children's Performances do tend to sell out, so we strongly recommend that you purchase your tickets in advance in order to guarantee a seat.

Gustafer Yellowgold with Morgan Taylor
Enter the imaginary universe of a little pointy-headed guy through live music and cartoons.

July 15
Galapagos George with Barefoot Puppets
Meet a giant one-of-a-kind tortoise who grows up on a faraway island with far-out animals.

So Many Ways to Share a Story with Susana and Timmy Abell
Encounter engaging tales told through award-winning music and puppetry.

COLLECTION CONNECTION

The Collection Connection Learning Center has reopened! Come check out the newly remodeled interactive learning space located on the Main Level off the Egyptian Gallery. The Collection Connection is made possible by Progress Energy.

What’s in the Box?

For children ages 2–5

Children and their caregivers discover a new adventure in the box each week. Activities are designed to stretch the imagination, foster an interest in art, and introduce children to the Museum in fun and engaging ways.

Free morning workshops for families. Kids and adults will delight in creating projects, discovering one another's creativity, and learning about art together. A different theme each week means there's always something new to explore. Limited space; call to enroll (919) 664-6828.

IN THE PARK

Family Fun in the Setting Sun

Keep the kids up a little late to watch some of their favorite films (on a giant outdoor screen!), or introduce the little ones to live bands playing music from their well-worn CDs—they’re sure to dance with glee.

Families and friends, seniors and grandchildren, and the young-at-heart are invited to evenings filled with fun activities, giveaways, and more at the following events in the Joseph M. Bryan, Jr., Theater in the Museum Park this summer:

SUMMER CAMP

Summer Camp for Kids

Five-day camps for children ages 6-8 and 9-12
June 8-July 24

Hundreds of masterpieces, acres of parkland, and vibrant studio spaces--you'll find them all here in a one-of-a-kind setting where creative inspiration abounds. From painting and drawing to storytelling and music, camps at the NCMA are a fun place to discover art both indoors and out!

Monday-Friday | 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
$250 ($220 Members) per camp
8 a.m. early-morning drop-off ($30 per camp)
5:30 p.m. late-afternoon pickup ($30 per camp)
