(2016) Directed by Clint Eastwood. Tom Hanks, Aaron Eckhart, Laura Linney. (96 min.) PG-13
The story of the Miracle on the Hudson is well known, the day when pilot “Sully” Sullenberger made an emergency landing on the frigid river, saving the lives of 155 passengers and crew. What is not so well known is that it didn’t take long before the National Transportation Safety Board began to second-guess the choices made by the veteran pilot. Clint Eastwood brings his usual economical filmmaking to this thriller, with another of Tom Hanks’s brilliant performances.
“Sully is an absolute triumph” (Chicago Sun Times)
