Small Treasures: Rembrandt, Vermeer, Hals, and Their Contemporaries represents the first exhibition to focus exclusively on small-format 17th-century Dutch and Flemish figure paintings. Many of the century’s greatest masters contributed to this tradition: pictures by Anthony van Dyck, Adriaen Brouwer, David Teniers, Frans Hals, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Jan Steen, Gerard Terborch, Gerrit Dou, and Frans van Mieris are featured in the exhibition.
