Room, Emma Donoghue

The exhibition Dwelling: Interiors by Page H. Laughlin and Pamela Pecchio sparks the selection of the acclaimed book Room by Dublin-born writer Emma Donoghue. Inspired by a true-life kidnapping case, Room vividly illustrates a mother’s devotion to her son as both survive in an 11-by-11-foot shed. There, Ma and Jack resourcefully craft an interior in which both imagine the single room as their splendid universe. Listed as one of the six best fiction titles of 2010 by the New York Times, Room was also celebrated as the Hughes and Hughes Irish Novel of the Year.

To register call the Museum Box Office, (919) 715-5923. Registration and payment required by 4 pm on Tuesday before the program.
