These seminars begin with a lecture by curators or other experts, and the discussion continues over a lunch catered by Iris, the Museum Restaurant. (repeat of October 6 session) The fame of Munch’s The Scream often overshadows his work as a printmaker. During this session, however, Deputy Director for Art John Coffey encourages an appreciation of Munch as an experimental printmaker and as one of the most celebrated and influential—yet misunderstood—artists in the modern world.
