Lunch and Lecture: Can Art Talk?
Friday, August 10 | 11 am CANCELEDEast Building, Museum Auditorium
$23 Members (per session)
$28 Nonmembers (per session)
These seminars begin with a lecture by curators or other experts, and the discussion continues over a lunch catered by Iris, the Museum Restaurant. Register at www.ncartmuseum.org/tickets or call the Museum Box Office, (919) 715-5923. Registration and payment for the combined program required by 4 pm on the Wednesday before the event.
Exhibition curator Jennifer Dasal highlights Word Up: The Intersection of Text and Image, featuring North Carolina artists who use text in two-dimensional works as both conveyor and inhibitor of meaning. A brief history of text in art, including works in the NCMA’s permanent collection, precedes the exhibition discussion.
