In an exciting collaboration, the NCMA has partnered with the American Dance Festival to present new work by the internationally acclaimed modern dance ensemble Shen Wei Dance Arts. The work, Undivided Divided, is presented in a series of performances in the galleries of the Museum’s West Building.
If you’re not familiar with master choreographer Shen Wei, here’s what you need to know:
• Shen Wei was the lead choreographer for the sensational opening ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
• He is widely considered the preeminent modern dance choreographer in the world today, and his many honors include the MacArthur “genius” award.
• Each performance can accommodate only 190 audience members, so don’t delay in obtaining your tickets for this truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. You’ll be a part of the work of one of the great artists of our time.
