Acclaimed indie artist Neko Case makes her NCMA debut. Her last two albums, Fox Confessor Brings the Flood and Middle Cyclone, along with her contributions to the Canadian power-pop band The New Pornographers, have catapulted her to the front ranks of American singer-songwriters. Middle Cyclone received two Grammy nominations and was Amazon's 2009 album of the year. Rolling Stone says Middle Cyclone is a showcase for Case’s “prime asset: a big, golden-hued voice that's capable of both brassy boldness and sumptuous low tones,” and NPR calls her “one of the most memorable and seductive voices in music.”

“Neko Case’s songs are full of claws, wolves, tornadoes, birds of prey, and the occasional gust of wind. But her voice is the real force of nature.”—New York Times Magazine

Neko’s longtime bandmate Kelly Hogan opens the show. The riveting and soulful singer, who also tours with the Indigo Girls, Jakob Dylan, and Mavis Staples, has been called “a national treasure” by colleague and former Chicago neighbor Andrew Bird. Her new album for Anti-Records releases in June.
