Code f.a.d. Company (the f.a.d. stands for film, art, dance) is a multimedia modern dance company based in Raleigh, N.C. Founded in 2008 by choreographer and filmmaker Autumn Mist Belk, Code f.a.d. has performed across the United States in its first four seasons, including shows in New York, Washington, Houston, Seattle, and Birmingham. Belk earned her MFA from the University of Maryland and, in addition to directing Code f.a.d., is on faculty at N.C. State University, where she teaches dance and yoga.
Professional dance companies perform work that has been developed in response to the exhibition El Anatsui: When I Last Wrote to You about Africa.
